Overview – Horror Movie Project is a project that was started by me in 2009 and has been running ever since then. The project is to watch and review every single horror movie starting from the beginning.

Why the Redesign Proposal – Horror Movie Project is nothing more than a straight forward blog and that kind of website really turns off the viewer. My goal is to have people explore the website and learn about different horror movies that they wouldn’t normally know about. I want the website to be a blog that doesn’t feel like a blog.

Design Overview

What is working –The side elements that are provided from blogger are really nice. The cloud and random horror review links are really easy and fun to use. I am also a fan of the drab color pallet since it is horror, it fits the feel of the site.

What is not working – The site is too basic. There is no variety and nothing to actually pull the reader in. My writing isn’t going to do it. It is too hard to actually use the website and it becomes frustrating for the viewer.

Proposed Changes – The changes that I am proposing to make are many. I would start with a complete overhaul of the background and aesthetic of the site. I still want the website to be a blog, without out-rightly being a blog. I think that a more modern look to the site is needed. I am also going to be implementing a number of “roll-over” functions for choosing a review. The side article of the website will feature events and even a search of the database.
